English Premier League predictions for Southampton – Tottenham
Southampton hosts Tottenham Hotspur at the St. Mary’s in a game from the 21th round of the Premier League. Our English Premier League predictions are about to follow about this clash.
With winning 7 points in their last three games Southampton successfully escaped the relegation zone of the Premier League. At this moment the Saints are 15th in the standings with 22 points, enjoying a 4 points distance in front of the 18th Aston Villa. This is a good moment for the club – Southampton managed to improve their form during the holidays and now they are breathing much easier.
After managing to beat Chelsea at the Stamford Bridge, Southampton won another precious point on Saturday. Ralph Hassenhuttl’s boys hosted Crystal Palace at the St. Mary’s and secured a point after a 1-1 draw. James Tomkins opened the score for Palace, but Danny Ings equalised for the Saints. Ings now has 12 goals in the league and he’s one of the best strikers in the division at this moment.
Tottenham Hotspur lost two points in their last game when they visited the league’s weakest team Norwich City at the Carrow Road. It was a great opportunity for Spurs to record a win, but the match ended with a 2-2 draw. Christian Eriksen and Harry Kane’s goals were not enough for Jose Mourinho’s team to clinch the win.
After this draw Spurs are now 6th in the league standings with 30 points, but just two points behind the 4th Chelsea, so Top 4 is still a very real goal for them. Against Southampton Tottenham will be without the injured Hugo Lloris and the suspended Son Heung-Min.
These are our English Premier League predictions for the game between Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur at the St. Mary’s on Wednesday. Will the new year bring some luck to Jose Mourinho’s team? Or maybe not?
