Football tips tonight for Duisburg – Hoffenheim

It’s time for the second round of the German DFB Pokal to be played. On Tuesday MSV Duisburg hosts Hoffenheim and we expect a pretty good clash between these two sides. Let’s take a look during our football tips tonight. Let’s go!

In the first round of the competition Duisburg hosted Greuther Furth at this same ground and achieved a comfortable 2-0 win. Lukas Daschner opened the score for the Zebras after just four minutes of playing, while Tim Albutat doubled their lead just 10 minutes later. It was a fairly easy win for the hosts, who showed better performance on this day.

The present is not really that bright for MSV Duisburg, because they are currently playing in the Germany’s 3. Liga. At this moment the Zebras are 2nd in the standings with 25 points won, being on par with the leader Hallescher FC. Right now Duisburg are in a run of two consecutive wins, achieved over Kaiserslautern and Wurzburger Kickers.

Hoffenheim are a much bigger club at the moment, of course. They are playing in the Bundesliga from many years and last season they even participated in the Champions League. The level is very different here.

In the first round of the DFB Pokal Hoffenheim needed penalties in order to progress, though. They met another 3. Liga team – Wurzburger Kickers and made a 3-3 draw away from home, being luckier during the penalties. Kaderabek, Bebou and Szalai scored for Hoffe during the regular time and the extra time. It was surprising that for Hoffenheim was so difficult to win this one, but it was the beginning of the season, too.

In their last Bundesliga game Hoffenheim enjoyed a 3-2 win during their visit to Hertha BSC in Berlin.
