Parma hosts the champion Juventus in the opening game of the Italian Serie A

Parma hosts the champion Juventus in the opening game of the Italian Serie A. We are going to take a look at this clash at the Stadio Ennio Tardini in our free football prediction tips.

After finishing 14th in the Serie A last season, now Parma will try to at least hold on this level and secure their place in the elite division for another year. Entering the Top 10 is maybe a little bit too ambitious for the Crusaders, but survival is a must. For another season Parma are going to be managed by Roberto D’Aversa, who coaches the team from years already and knows the players pretty well.

During the summer Parma made some additions to their squad. The club signed the young striker Andrea Adorante from Inter, while the midfielder Gaston Brugman was bought from Pescara. Lazio’s Mattia Sprocati and Pescara’s Jose Machin also signed, while Napoli’s Roberto Inglese and Zenit’s Hernani were loaned for the season. In the same time the club said goodbye to the goalkeeper Gabriel Brazao, who moved to Inter.

Juventus are aiming to win the Serie A for another year and they remain the number one contenders for the trophy. The big news for the Old Lady is the fact that Massimiliano Allegri left the club after few successful seasons. He was replaced by Napoli’s ex-manager Maurizio Sarri, who was coaching Chelsea last season.

On the transfer market Juve made some important additions to their squad. The club signed one of the best young defenders in the world – Matthijs de Ligt, who was bought from Ajax. Meanwhile Manchester City’s Danilo and Genoa’s Cristian Romero also joined, alongside Roma’s Luca Pellegrini and Sassuolo’s Merih Demiral. Adrien Rabiot and Aaron Ramsey joined as free agents, while the legendary Gianluigi Buffon returned to the club.

In our free football prediction tips we are going to say the obvious thing – Juventus are favourites in this opening game in the Serie A. Most surely Maurizio Sarri will want to start his career at Turin with a win, but let’s say what Parma will answer to this.
