Villarreal faces Valencia in an all Spanish fixture from the 1/4-finals of the Europa League
Villarreal faces Valencia in an all Spanish fixture from the 1/4-finals of the Europa League. Let’s head out to the Estadio El Madrigal in Villarreal to take a look at these two sides in our vip soccer bets for today.
For Spain it was dissapointing that their two remaining teams in the competition are going to face each other, but at least it’s guaranteed that they will have at least one team at the 1/2-finals. Valencia are doing much better than Villarreal in La Liga, but we all know that the European games are always very different than the ones in the domestic leagues. In La Liga Villarreal are fighting against relegation, but it doesn’t mean that they can’t reach the 1/2-finals of Europa League. They already did well enough in this tournament.
During the 1/8-finals Villarreal faced the Russian side Zenit and celebrated two wins. In the first game on Russian soil the Yellow Submarine enjoyed a 3-1 win, which gave the team a solid advantage before the second leg at the El Madrigal. In Spain Javi Calleja’s team won with 2-1 and it was enough to progress. Gerard Moreno and Carlos Bacca scored for the home side.
In the same time Valencia eliminated from the tournament another Russian side – Krasnodar. Marcelino’s team won the first leg at the Mestalla with 2-1, which gave them an advantage. On Russian soil the rematch ended with a 1-1 draw, which sent Los Che to the 1/4-finals. Krasnodar were just seconds away to eliminate Valencia, but Goncalo Guedes scored a crucial equalising goal in the 93th minute for the Spanish side. It was heartbreaking for the Russians.
That’s our vip soccer bets for the Europa League first 1/4-finals leg between Villarreal and Valencia on Thursday night.
